Hey guys – Lo here!
I’m sooo pumped to say I finally finished decorating my room and I love how it all came together! Lexi did a walkthrough of her room and we got a lot of positive feedback so I thought I’d share mine as well.
As most of you know I recently graduated and moved from College Station to Austin, TX. As hard as it was to leave my friends and family I knew I needed to push (or throw) myself out of my comfort zone to grow and experience new things.
Now let’s be honest moving sucks, but it did give me an excuse to redecorate my room which I wasn’t totally mad about 😉
I turned to Pinterest and noticed everything I pinned had a common theme. I wanted a more mature yet chic room and I’ve been really into the neutral, iron, and the”boho” trend lately. Neutral was new for me because I’ve always liked a lot of color, but I knew I wanted to be able to come into my room and relax with calming and cozy colors. I wanted to have neutrals without being boring! I’ve added pops of color with greenery, photos, and other decor.
A lot of these items I found at TJ Maxx or Homegoods. No joke, the first few weeks of living here I went there at least 5 times. Some other awesome places are Wayfair or Overstock.com the only downside is you have to assemble some things yourself, my headboard for example. With the help of my mom and fab roommate, we tackled it in a few hours.
Another hack that a friend told me about and I’d definitely recommend is downloading honey . This is a coupon and promo code scanner that you can press when checking out anywhere online and it’ll apply any available discounts. This allowed me to get the best price for my items!
To start is my bed- This is what you see when you first walk in and is obviously the focal point of my room so I wanted to go all out!
It is well with my soul sign / $5 on etsy if you want to frame them yourself or hobby lobby it was $25
Euros Shams/ $30 each
Comforter Queen / $95
Black diamond accent pillow / $19.99
Grey throw blanket/ $40 – pick one up at TJ Maxx
Rug 5X8′ / $217.99
My room is 13X10 ft. pretty standard, but not huge so I knew I could fit a queen size bed and needed to make use of every space. It’s all about storage and the little details! I knew I wanted it to be functional for my fur baby, Bella. She’s going on 10 years old and it’s hard for her to get up and down off my bed so I found her these awesome steps to go up to my bed (not pictured) but see them here. (Yes I’m going to be THAT mom. haha)
Dresser– I found at a local furniture store in Austin but here is a look-alike / $219.99
Floor-Length Mirror– my mom has had this forever honestly hobby lobby is awesome AND they have the never ending 40% off coupon you can use, but here is another look-alike / $370
Candle Holders / $24 each- turning on these LED lights at night are one of my faves
Plant – I don’t know if this is considered one, but I’m a sucker for succulents. They can be found everywhere you look! Even HEB has them for a reasonable price / $14.99
If you know me you know I like little knick knacks! I forced myself to get rid of some but the rest I displayed on this shelf unit & picked up some baskets for additional storage. This is a great way to hide some of the clutter but it’s accessible when you need it!
Shelf Unit– y’all I snagged this online at Walmart & the price tells the quality but hey it works / $17
Gather Canvas– look-alike/ $39
Search Seagrass Woven Baskets– there’s so many to choose from / Here is a set of 4 for $33
That’s all I have for now, but I hope you enjoyed the tour of my room and it inspires you when decorating yours! I’m thinking about doing an apartment tour next and showing some deals on decor I found- Let me know if this is something y’all would want to see!
