Oh what a day! So picture this 7 of my family members including me and Lex piled up in big “goodtime” van to road trip to the little town of Leona, TX.
Where is this place you may ask? Honestly, we weren’t too sure ourselves, but they are doing it right! Smack dab in the middle of Houston and Dallas is this quaint little town with a local hotspot- Leona’s General Store & Restaurant.
My dad had been wanting to take us here for a while now. It’s been featured on The Texas Bucket Listand known for their amazing steaks. We heard people come from all over and line up outside (rain or shine) for the doors to open at 5:30 p.m….. but really do people line up before opening?
Yup. They weren’t lying. Here’s a picture to prove it.
After Lex had a roll or 4 (haha) we’ll be the first to say it’s worth the wait- & hype!
We were greeted and sat by friendly faces and with only 4 menu options you can’t go wrong… you know what they say everything is bigger (& better) in Texas! 😉
I mean just look at it. Yumm.
Not only that did I mention it is BYOB? What could be better than enjoying a big steak and bringing your own boos. Oops… Is my Texan showing?
After eating you can take a short walk to the General Store where they have an old fashion soda fountain- how cute is this place? This also cured my never-ending sweet tooth.
